[edit] How to survive the SeaPowers World

Sea Powers is built around a 3 hour update cycle. Every 3 hours, you gain tax income from your islands, your population grows, and you get to perform a new action with your ships.

You can only do 1 thing with a given ship each update: repair it, resupply it, move it, attack with it, or send it on an exploration mission. But be advised that ships which have been used are not available to defend your island, so sending everything out on an attack mission may not be a smart idea.

You can gain money and additional islands by attacking other players, assuming you can overcome their defenses.

Technology provides a useful bonus in combat against other ships - consider investing in it.
